NDP: Snow Barrier
The 2001 campaign revealed that parts of the monument were in immediate danger. The NDP Emergency Plan was developed as part of the NPD Master Plan to address these threats.
The reliefs at the West-Terrace needed to be protected immediately. The reliefs had become fragile. They were extremely vulnerable to the tons of snow sliding down from the tumulus every spring. The team proposed to construct a temporary snow barrier at once. Unfortunately, the permit of 2001 from the Ministry was granted for surface research only and permission for the snow barrier was not given.
